Didn't get past the introduction. Whilst the book's topic interested me greatly and is a serious matter - i.e. the impact of the maritime environment on planning for the defence of Australia as an island continent - I was disappointed by what can only be seen and woke silliness by the authors in their introductory comments. I assume if these views are the foundation for their work, then the work was not to be taken in any serious manner by myself. Examples being:
"...discussions on Australian security rarely account for First Nations' approaches to foreign relations..."
"one shock jock commented that gender equality wouldn't help Australia deal with China...however...research has demonstrated that societies in which women enjoy the same rights as men are more likely to be stable, secure...."… (plus d'informations)
