I like to row, but generally for just an hour at a time. The author rowed and rowed and rowed: from Brooklyn, up the Hudson River, across the Erie Canal, along Lake Erie. Then he portaged 7 miles to a tributary of the Ohio River and rowed, rowed, rowed, all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. Eventually, he rowed all the way up the Atlantic coast to Maine. Excellent travel book.
