This book is not the boring one that many of the other reviewers described it as as far as I could see. I really enjoyed Maddie's story and the descriptions made you feel that you were there.

Maddie and her daughter are in Cape Cod for the summer while trying to come to terms with the murder of Maddie's father theyear before.

While there her first boyfriend shows up which turns the lives of everyone he comes in contact with upside down.

A good read that I can recommend.

New author, free ebook. Not very special but nice story, nice romance, okay whodunnit. I'd read more by this author.
3-3,5*

A story about first love and the impact of losing it, mixed with suspense surrounding a murder. Some of the characters flit in and out a little too much for me but, the ones that stick around are developed pretty well.½

The book was enjoyable, but I could have done without the bland "who-dunnit." The book could have a little more character development. Good, light fare for the summer, though. Yes, this is definitely a beach read.½
