This is a contemporary realistic fiction early chapter book. This book follows Frannie, a young girl who loves the idea of being an adult, but often gets into trouble during school trips. In this book, her class visits a radio station. Before going to the station, Frannie gets the idea to bring a briefcase with her resume and business cards in hopes of getting a job. When the class gets to the radio station, Frannie sees that the radio dj isn't in his room to do his radio station, she decided to help him out and answer his phone calls for the portion of his radio show where he gives out advice. Frannie gets in a lot of trouble and has to apologize to her class for ruining the field trip, the mayor for almost ruining his election (because she gave out incorrect information), and the radio host for messing up his radio show. Everyone accepts her apologies and Frannie is very happy. This is a pretty good contemporary realistic fiction book, because it provides a strong female character who has a lot of determination. I would keep this in my classroom for my students to read (depending on the grade I teach). The illustrations look like pencil or charcoal drawings.… (plus d'informations)

I think that I prefered this a bit more to the first one we read (Check Please). This story seemed to have more plot running through it. I thought the Aunts business was a great one for my little reader to remain engaged in the story.

Another good book in this series. These books all have a similar story line but are enjoyable. Not a huge fan of the "kiddish" words - but when reading aloud I just substitute the real world and we move on. On the whole I find this series wholesome and fun. But I am biased, as I was one of those kids who loved trips to the office supply store versus the toy store.
