A level one reader featuring flamingos playing bingo. Somehow the bingo balls escape and the flamingos get in a tangle; it's toucan, sitting quietly in back, who wins the game. Everyone leaves happy, looking forward to Chicken Karaoke the next night.

Nonfiction!
This is the story of a poor girl, Mary Anning, and her family in the early 1800s in England who was largely ignored by the very men who bought the fossils and seashells she sold. She was self educated as there was no money for school, and school was only for boys. All these years later she is now recognized as the first paleontologist. Finally! "She forged a path for EVERYONE curious enough to keep digging."
The illustrations by Emily Paik are fun, simple, colorful, expressive and delightful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age, including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, especially to a school, church library, or your local public library!.
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Charlesbridge via NetGalley. Thank you!

Wren has always loved birdwatching with her Grandpa, especially watching the wrens in the birdhouse outside her window. When their family - Wren, Grandpa, Dad, and pregnant Mom - moves to a new, bigger house, Wren isn't so sure about the change. At first, all she sees is pigeons! But then she sees a family of phoebes, who have built a nest right on Wren's porch. She watches the eggs hatch, and then there is a new, special Phoebe - a new sister, in a cradle right by the window so she can see the birds too. Back matter includes information about how to be a citizen scientist and what to do if you see a birds' nest.… (plus d'informations)

Dedicated to Neil Armstrong, this book tells the story of a boy who flew kites to the moon, observed it with a telescope, studied hard, and eventually, one day, went to visit the moon - just like he'd promised as a boy. Beautiful.
