One of the many liaisons that bigoted people don’t like (or wouldn't like, if shifters really existed) is that between a human and a shifter. "It won’t end well," and that came from the cast shifter's own mother. No wonder Dante is hesitant to act on his feelings! What he, and the people who make this type of pronouncement, always seem to forget is that the individuals concerned should have something to say about it. As long as everyone affected is a consenting adult, who is to say a cat shifter and a human can't mate?

Dante is sure he'll be too much for the human he has loved for years. Too strong, too demanding, too kinky, you name it, Dante thinks it's an issue. He gets more and more desperate, to the point where Devin, the object of his affections and his best friend since third grade, notices that something is off. When Dante finally admits his feelings, there is no holding him back, and that alone creates more issues. I was tearing my hair out by this point.

Devin may seem the quiet, harmless type, and he is totally innocent and very shy, but he knows exactly what he wants. And that is Dante! As soon as he has an opening, and Dante makes the smallest comment about what is really going on, Devin jumps at the opportunity. Thankfully, he doesn’t let go. As for his stupid parents who think a cat shifter is below Devin? It's a tough situation for Devin to handle, but he deals even with that.

If you like stories about "forbidden love" and men who think they can never be together, if you enjoy reading about shifters and humans finding a new way of relating to each other, and if you're looking for a very hot read with lots of emotion and quite a bit of angst, you may like this short book.

This is probably the cutest, sweetest BDSM story I have ever read. It's a fairy tale and an "Intro to BDSM" all rolled into one. Actually its focus is D/s and light impact play, since Paul, the curious sub, wants to try spanking and maybe a flogger. Not that it even gets beyond the spanking. That alone blows his mind so much he is totally overwhelmed – in a very good way!

Paul is curious about BDSM. He's had dreams and fantasies for years, but he's also very afraid to make them happen. What if he doesn’t like it? What if he does? He is so inexperienced that he's very vulnerable and damned lucky he walks into Kade rather than some ruthless Dom who might have exploited his inexperience. Everything about Kade's careful and sensitive approach only makes Paul want more. He is delightfully shy and innocent about it all, but his natural enthusiasm and uninhibited reactions made this a very special story.

Kade may be an experienced Dom, and he definitely sees something he likes in Paul, but he is also blown away by how much he likes what they do. He approaches Paul in the club and reads the situation and Paul's responses like the Master he truly is. He moves slowly enough for Paul to be able to respond and is just forceful enough to give the new sub the measure of dominance he clearly craves.

If you've never read a BDSM story and are curious to see what it might be like, this is a good one for you to try. Just keep in mind this is the fairy tale version, very sweet, and definitely not what the majority of the stories labeled as BDSM I have found out there is like. But I loved it for those differences and really hope there will be more stories about Paul and Kade – they are hot together, and could become great lovers.

A nice novella playing on the old theme of the Master/slave bond in a fantasy setting; the village where Daniel lives is bound by an ancient pact with the Kin lords to offer, or better sacrifice, one youth every year. When the chosen is Daniel’s sister, he cannot let it happen: while his sister is loved by everyone, and engaged, Daniel knows he has no better future ahead of him, he prefers the company of men and that is the worst sin according to the priest. So Daniel volunteers to be the sacrificial lamb to the Kin lords, and he is not expecting anything better than becoming like an animal: the Kin lords drink human blood and the offerings are to become their life substance providers.

Vale is the trainer of the Kin, he is the one who has to take Daniel in the first days and explain him what will be his dues. What Vale is not expecting is to bond with Daniel in a way that goes beyond the training. Daniel is a kind and gentle soul that well suit the similar behaviour of Vale. Vale is not used to train with forceful imposition, he is more like a whisperers, letting his teachings sip into the offerings.

The feeling of the story is more or less that of a fairy tale, maybe a little sexier than an old fashioned one, but still, it was like in those tales, where the godmother fairy will arrive to make everything right and grant the happily ever after to the couple.

Runaway is a quite “classical” M/M paranormal romance: Keith and Taylor are both runaways, Keith from an abusive pack and Taylor from an abusive past. Keith is a lone wolf, both since he doesn’t trust other wolves and also since he doesn’t really trust himself; he tried to have an “ordinary” relationship with another man, not a werewolf, and it ended in a quite tragic way, something the author let it pass, but that actually has destroyed any chance to normality for him. Taylor instead was a runaway teenager whose father disowned him when he came out at 15 years old and he spent the rest of his youth as a kept boy for an older man; when he was probably trying to rebuild his life, he was bitten and turned in a werewolf, something that was pushing him towards suicide. When Keith brings Taylor home, he wants to help the younger man, but indeed Taylor is also a very pretty boy, and Keith finds himself with a living temptation in close quarters.

The novella is pretty much about an erotica tale, even the few non sexual scenes in the end resolved in a prelude to sex. When Taylor is around, Keith is a one minded werewolf and mating seems his only purpose. Truth be told, he tries to be unselfish and detached, but I had the feeling that Taylor well know the effect he has on the other man and he manages to use it to his own good. In the end Taylor has always used his body in exchange of shelter and false security, and he is only lucky that this time Keith is probably the right man for him.

What probably distinguishes Runaway from similar stories, is the very primal tone of sex; the wolf nature of both men, but above all Keith, is pretty strong, and there is even a sex scene that can be considered in “shifted form”, even if it was not voluntary and so quick that the reader almost doesn’t realize it.
