- He was a writer of Southern Gospel Music in the 20th century, writing over 550 songs. Some of his song are "Mansion Over the Hilltop", "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow", "Suppertime", "Follow Me", "Room at the Cross", and "Happiness Is the Lord". He was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1981. He served Assembly of God churches in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
