As a fan of origami for pretty much my entire life, I would have to say that this is the first origami clothing book that I have come across! Usually instructions for animals, flowers and other designs dominate origami how-to books. Origami Chic was an amazing fresh take on a centuries-old paper craft. I was impressed by the concept, and can not understand why this has not been done before.

The clothing and accessories featured are fashionable and adorable. Instructions for tops, bottoms, swimwear, dresses, heels, coats, bags, scarves, everything is included. As with many origami instruction books, paper is included at the back. In this case, it is beautifully patterned and edgy, perfectly suitable for making modern and classic clothing.

Commonly used folds are explained at the beginning of the book, and steps are very clearly illustrated and easy to follow. The symbol chart provided helps to quickly learn how to read the diagrams, although every step has a written explanation as well.

This is a great gift for fans of origami, crafters, and anyone interested in fashion and or clothes construction. The difficulty levels range from easy to complex, so everyone can immediately create something quickly, and the more experienced can make more intricate designs.

An ideal instruction book for young teens interested in fashion.
The instructions show how to transform a piece of paper into a sophisticated article of clothing.
A welcome first step into clothes design.
Recommended.
I was given a digital copy of this book by the publisher Capstone via Netgalley in return for an honest unbiased review.

Origami Chic by Sok Song is a delightful fashion origami project book for kids (and adults that love origami). I could picture my grand daughters making several of these projects for their fashion art girls they make. They could also use some projects on their dolls such as the purses, scarves, shoes, and jewelry. In the back of the book has the patterned and blank paper used in the projects. The many projects are very detailed on how to make them. Very easy step by step instructions to make all kinds of cute fashions children, esp. little girls, would love to make. I know my grand daughters love crafts and make little beaded bracelets that take fine motor skills that are harder than these projects. In just a few steps, kids can have an adorable piece of origami clothing for a name tag for a gift, a toy, or anything else they choose to use it for. Well organized and great photos and descriptions to explain each step. Great job. Great gift idea. I received this book from NetGalley for a honest review and it in no way effected my review or rating.… (plus d'informations)
