A selection in the “Stories From the Bible” series for children, this is the well-known story of Noah and the ark retold for young readers. When Noah did as God commanded and built an ark, his neighbors thought he was silly. But Noah trusted God and followed His instructions so that at the right time the ark would be ready. The animals entered the ark two by two just as the rain began to fall. Forty days and nights of rain flooded the earth, but God saved Noah, his family, and the animals.

With colorful illustrations and an engaging text, both young and old readers will find much to appreciate in this story that teaches children the value of faith and to trust in a promise.

Recommended.

Part of the “Stories From the Bible” series for children, this is the familiar story of Joseph who wore a coat of many colors, a gift from his father. His older brothers were jealous, sold Joseph into slavery in Egypt, and let their father believe his favorite son had perished in a wild animal attack.

With colorful illustrations and an engaging text, both young and old readers will find much to appreciate in this story of a young man whose faith in God kept him safe in a foreign land and put him in the right place to help many others, including his family, when famine spread over the land.

Part of the “Stories From the Bible” series for children, this is the familiar story of a small shepherd boy who watched over the sheep, wrote psalms of praise to God, and came forward to fight Goliath, a giant Philistine soldier.

With colorful illustrations and an engaging text, both young and old readers will find much to appreciate in this story of a young shepherd boy who learned that small could be mighty and whose faith in God led him to volunteer to fight a giant.

Summary: This is the story of Noah and the Ark. God told Noah to build an ark and take 2 of every animal in the ark. People made fun of Noah but he kept on building, keeping his faith in God.

Personal Reaction: This is one of my favorite stories in the Bible. This story teaches children to have faith in God and teaches them patience.

Classroom Extensions:
1) Kids can make ark's out of little sicks.
2) Children can talk about what is important to them that they may want to take if they were to get on the ark.… (plus d'informations)
