I didn't care for this book. It wasn't the writing - which was about standard for regency, it wasn't even that I disliked the hero and heroine. I guess I really don't like deception, not in real life and not in books, especially romances where eventually the deceiver and the deceived are supposed to fall in love and live happily ever after. I didn't like the attitudes of both the protagonists, his "I'll bring her down a peg or two" and her "I'll make him behave" just rubbed me wrong. The book was an engaging read, I do think that many regency readers would enjoy it, but I just don't personally care for the plot devices used.… (plus d'informations)
