This book would be good for upper primary and intermediate students. This book is about the earlier years of professional climber Ashima Shiraishi's journey. This book would be great to keep in the classroom book rotation, as well as for read aloud.

Intermediate
This book tells the story of Ashima Shiraishi, a very successful young female climber. She calls the walls "problems" and she takes each fall as something that can teach her something about how to solve the problem.
I enjoy this book. The illustrations are reminiscent of anime or manga, and I like that how she pictures the wall (one section looks like an elbow, one looks like folds of fabric) and you can see pictures of those things on the wall. I like that it shows her falling down over and over again, but she doesn't get discouraged, she just keeps trying. I'd like to have this book in my classroom to show how they can get up after they fall, then I'd like to talk about the author and what a young, successful climber she is, and how my students can accomplish anythign no matter their age.… (plus d'informations)

This story is an awesome book to use for adventurous children. Because it shows how someone rock climbs but also that it is ok if you fail. Since you can get up and try again. This book also showcases a powerful female character that can help motive students to go out and be adventurous.
