Great biography of the prolific author Walter Gibson, creator of The Shadow and numerous books on magic and psychic development. Gibson poured out numerous entertainment columns on things like Tabletop Magic, as well as crosswords, while working for a news syndicate. His gig with The Shadow involved turning out two books a month for 283 novels and after that he continued turning out books until his death in his 80s. He ghosted books with Houdini and Thurston and was himself a magician. This book tells his impressive story and it is one worth reading for pulp fans and inspiration for would-be writers. Gibson is my hero.
