SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW!

Hmm, I'm still unsure about this series. The pacing was a bit weird. It might be because InuYasha was so slow that this feels like it's going at a breakneck pace, but it still feels too fast. Also, I am still getting huge "Fan doujin written circa 2006" vibes from this. Again, not saying that's a negative thing, but that it's noticeable. Also, whose brilliant idea was it to make Setsuna and Sango practically identical in their designs? I had to flip back a couple of pages a few times to see who was currently on the page because I kept getting them mixed up. The entire plot point of all the girls needing to unlock their demon powers more was an interesting plot development, but again, it feels like it came up very quickly. Though, Moroha being able to unlock her full demon powers via a special lipstick made me laugh out loud. Like, seriously? What is she, a demonic magical girl?! I know it's silly that I find it goofy cause this is a fantasy series, but I can't help but laugh over it. Also, totally predict that Towa will lose control of her demon side at some point and go berserk, just like InuYasha in the original series. Honestly, all of the plot points seem just to be recycled from the original series. Including the whole "rainbow pearl" thing. Like...guys, that's just the Shikon Jewel with a clumsy coat of paint. OH and one minor nitpick that has been bothering me forever is what Towa wears. She's running around in a WHITE SUIT, and it has to be the most impractical thing ever. The manga makes a point of saying "A suit is so easy to move around in!" and I just stared at the page because uh...no?! Has the author ever worn a suit?! A suit jacket restricts your arm movements quite a bit and is honestly annoying to move around in, let alone get in crazy sword battles. Suit pants also restrict your movements a little bit, though not as drastically as the jacket. The suit is WHITE too? I know it's probably to make her contrast with her sister and to be reminiscent of Sesshomaru's outfit, but still. It may seem like I'm being harsh, but I can't help how I feel about this series. I will give it kudos for having an excellent artist. I have no complaints about the art, it's all very well done.… (plus d'informations)

Just as a precursor to my review, I have never seen the Yashahime anime, though I did read the original InuYasha manga. I'm mixed about this manga. I feel like if I was going into this without having read InuYasha, I would probably like it more. This new series tries to cater both to people who never read InuYasha and people who have. So it feels weird when they explain basic plot details that readers of InuYasha already know. It makes you a bit impatient because they stop with the plot to explain all of these already-known facts about the world. The plot itself is...fine. It's enjoyable to read, but I'm going to completely be honest, it reads like fan doujin. Not in a bad way! It reads like a fan doujin that would have been super popular in the fandom during the early 2000s. It's just jarring because this is an official sequel to the original manga, but it honest to goodness feels like I'm reading a fan doujin filled with someone's OCs. I find the choice of making one of the sisters completely unaware of how the world of the Feudal Era functions interesting. She's obviously supposed to be the character whom the reader who is new to the franchise sees the world through. Some plot points made me raise an eyebrow because it felt like they didn't know what to do, so they just lifted plot beats from the original manga. It was an entertaining read for sure, but I'm still unsure if I'm liking this sequel or not.… (plus d'informations)

I am a huge fan of the Inuyasha series. I watched and read the books with my children. I loved all the characters and am so happy to see their children and a few original characters come back. This is the next generation, win this book focuses on Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter. InuYasha and Kagame’s, Sesshomaru and Rin’s daughters (twins) were separated from their parents and then separated again with one living in the family temple where Kagome was raised. They are all finally united, now to find their parents because things are going to get bad.
I really enjoyed this version of the Inuyasha tale. The art was wonderful, these girls had a wonderful mix of both parents. The story fit with the past tale extremely well. I can’t wait to get book 2
I received a copy of this from the author for an honest review
