By now, the discussion in the book is well-known, and loses its punch, though I imagine when this book came out first, some of the material and the discussion was quite new. The author looks at not only the specific Battle of Moscow (October-November-December, 1941), but the events since the start of Barbarossa, and looks into the enormous logistical failures that doomed the German effort. There's some look at the Russian side of things, though given that the Cold War was on and access to primary sources restricted, it's not nearly as detailed as the German side of things. That's the principal weakness of the book, in my view.
