James Sanders, an architect, is the cowriter with Ric Burns of the seven-part, fourteen-and-a-half-hour PBS series New York: A Documentary Film -- which received an Emmy Award and an Alfred I. duPont -- Columbia University Silver Baton Award -- and coauthor with Burns and Lisa Ades of its companion afficher plus volume, New York: An Illustrated History.
