Mr. Rowan obviously did a lot of research into the times and the peoples that inhabit his story. That is very evident from the detail evident throughout the story. The dialog he uses for his characters is not as effective but it does move the story along.
I did not read this book all in one sitting. It was a book that I would pick up between other books and read a chapter here and a couple of chapters there. That worked very well for me and so I was able to appreciate the story without having to feel like I had to read the book all at once. I was able to hold on to the story line very well and maybe that’s the best way to read a book such as this. To each his/her own I suppose.
If you love history (and I do) and want to learn more about Columbus and Caonabo this book would be one to add to your shelf. I have found that reading historical fiction can lead to learning – I end up researching things I find in the books and I then learn even more.… (plus d'informations)
