This collection of poems by Native Americans is a powerful work that speaks on everything from day-to-day of life, to a deep connection with nature, animals, and ancestors, to the injustices suffered by this community. The book is arranged by authors, of which there are 21, so that each "chapter" is a collection of that poet's works. The tribe to which the poet belongs is also listed, allowing readers to further identify with and learn about different Native American experiences. This is a collection that I would not recommend for using below the YA level due to the mature content of a number of the poems. I believe that some amazing discussions can come from these poems, regardless of the ethnic population of the school in which they are used.… (plus d'informations)
