Sierra has always been the person who was fascinated by movie monsters of a bygone era. So much so that as she got older she'd gotten tattoo's of many of those. For some reason Sierra, almost connected to them in more then just flesh. This is NOT a boring book, there are times that your right along side of the characters in this book and this was terrifying to me. She had dreams as a young girl/woman of things that a person could say "go bump in the night" But something changes while working on a boat sailing with others and the weather changes. From then on the point of view is from Sierra and another. But please please please give this book a real chance to hook you and pull you into it, because it will do that.… (plus d'informations)

Welcome to Quincy's life , in 1988 she travels Scotland, over the highlands and finds something she never in the world thought happen. This story takes us back and forth in her life from 1988 to 2008, where all that she went through. Never have I read anything like this, All that she has gone through is now showing it's effects when married, with a child, husband and they know something is wrong. I had to go back and re-read several pages as I wanted to make sure what I was reading. My mind was blown with what she had and is happening to her, then and now. This is not a quick read, I wanted to make sure I understand everything. Some things were shocking, confusing, terrifying and more.… (plus d'informations)

Dreamshores by Mike Robinson is a strange but wonderful book. It's about a girl, then later the woman, obsessed with the monsters of stop-motion animator guru that dies in a plane crash out at sea. When her and others are on a boat, a strange fog comes in and takes them to a island where the unbelievable happens. This is a fantastic, nail-biting, fantasy filled, surprise/twists at ever turn book! I can't say enough of how I loved this book! I don't want to give away anything, just read it! Just when you think you figure it out, have you? It is awesome. I received this book for an honest review.… (plus d'informations)

Two best-selling authors, born minutes apart, only meters apart in the same hospital in a quiet northern Californian city, Twilight Falls. Although they never become friends, with each other or with some one else for that matter, they are creepily alike not only in mannerisms and appearance, also in the stories they write. This continues into adulthood, until one of them, right at the start of the novel, kills the other.

Although the story is more of a background on Martin Smith and John Becker than it is a murder mystery, it is told from the perspective of people from their periphery, a school teacher, a peer. It is obvious these people are influence by the two, although not really in a good way.

This is one of those stories that you're not able to catch in a single, or even two or three, genres. At times, I would even consider calling it paranormal or horror, due to all the creepiness that surrounds it. Then why only three stars, I hear you ask. Well, it is not something easily explained but I will give it a try. While I like experimental kind of books, I often find that they give up some parts of the story for the sake of style. I feel this sort of happened in this story. The 'original' murder mystery is perhaps 10% of the book, the rest is flashbacks and at the end it feels like there is a rush to close everything asap. During most of the book, Martin and John are almost not there at all. Their names are being dropped, but as they don't have a lot of contact with anyone really, it feels like they are not present at their own party. This made that I was not as invested in the story as I could have been, and sometimes I had to really tell myself to pick the book back up.

As The Green-Eyed Monster is part of a 'non-linear' trilogy about Twilight Falls, I'm continuing with the other books, Negative Space and Waking Gods.

Thanks to the publisher for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
