Wake-up call.
This was the third of Rachel Rhodes' 'Awkward' novellas that I've listened to, and I have to say, I think this is my favourite so far. Again the narration was done by Kate Millions, who perfectly embodies Rachel's crazy fast-living girls.

Amber Holland has everything going for her. Her wealthy father pays out for her luxury apartment, her designer clothes and her wild life-style...but then the bubble bursts and he realises she needs a serious wake-up call. Almost overnight she finds herself in Beijing, in a scrappy apartment with barely enough money for bus fare. She needs to find a job and sort herself out, and fast.

I loved how Amber found a niche and really made a go of it. She makes some great friends and of course there are a couple of love interests to complicate her life.
I don't want to say much more in case I spoil it for you, but this would be my first choice if I were recommending one of the 'Awkward' series to read (or listen to).

All's fair in love and business.
This is the fourth in a series of stand alone novellas, featuring sexy women fighting for survival in the rat-race.

Emma is a single Mum with a four-year-old daughter, Alyssa, and a high powered job. Her ex husband has restricted access to their daughter but pushes his luck for more time with her, in spite of his alcohol problem. Fortunately Emma's parents are on hand for pretty-much constant babysitting and as a grandmother myself, I was impressed.
There are two men interested in Emma and an evil best friend, so there's plenty going on. Emma is top of her league professionally (as she told us rather too frequently), but there is fierce competition for the contracts she is chasing.

This is my second Rachel Rhodes book, both excellently narrated by Katlynn Millions. However, I'm sorry to say I didn't rate this book as highly as Trouble in Print. Awkward in Trouble seemed to be lacking the tension I enjoyed in Awkward in Print and it could have done with being a bit longer, so I could get to know the characters a bit better.

Short, but not so sweet.
I thought this was going to be a predictable tale and I was shouting obscenities at the main character for being so stupid! But then the author turned me on my head, as Melissa Delport (alias Rachel Rhodes/Liss Del) is wont to do and I had to smile at my automatic assumptions.

It's only a novella, just 3 hrs and 47 mins in audio, but it was the perfect length. There aren't too many characters, so it doesn't need to be a full novel, but it packs a punch.
Josie (JoJo) has made her name as an actress and has now written her autobiography. It's flying off the shelves. But there is one person in her past who can ruin everything - and he's just turned up at her signing table.
That's all I'm going to say.

I'm not a great fan of Romance, or Hollywood razzmatazz, but even I enjoyed this.
Another well read audio by Katlynn Millions.
