Interesting and thought provoking. Makes a strong case for the necessity of a distinction between phenomenal consciousness and access, or global-broadcast, consciousness. I see no reason why both can't be functionally separate systems in the brain interacting with each other. Also I found the world-simulation metaphor and the dreaming model for empirical research to be sound principles from which to move forward.
