Dismal. It's totally beyond me how anybody could ever put this in as a report, let alone use it as a Ph.D. thesis (which it happens to be). At the time it even made me wonder about academic standards at Amsterdam University * (at my Alma Mater this wouldn't have been accepted from a freshman). Not just a waste of paper - even a waste of the ink used on that paper. The only thing we learn from it is that the author can read well enough to quote others. Huzzah! PoMo "look at me" drivel at its worst. Even one star is actually really way too much credit for it. The guy should have failed his exams.
