Picked this up because I’ve been enjoying the Netflix series it inspired. It’s quite different from the series, but I really enjoyed its originality and creativity. I’ve never read a graphic novel like this. It draws the reader in by talking directly to you the entire time. One character or another is carrying one side of a dialogue with the reader, and the artwork cleverly indicates what part you, the reader, have in the parts of the story where action is required. It’s a neat experience, and while the drawing didn’t wow me on an aesthetic level, it certainly pulled off a neat trick. Will look for more by this author/artist.… (plus d'informations)

The comic is interesting and reads easy. It's fast paced, features a somehow interesting story. I gave it three stars, then I thought over it again, gave it 4 stars. On one hand, I feel it's not easy to make a comic that reads so good. On the other, it's not a new story at all, you have read this, or maybe seen in TV this several times.
Still, it will not consume too much of your time. Recommended.

Daybreak is zombie apocalypse meets dystopian road trip amalgamated with Hitchcockian psycho vibes.

"Art house take on the zombie genre." That is not necessarily a good thing. Yes, the point of view is an innovative thing, but it does not work very well for readers who want to feel engaged. And other than that, the comic is mostly a progression of scenery with minimal characters. The ending is just left hanging, which is about right for the zombie apocalypse genre. Basically, this is one of those minimalist comics with little to no words in it. If nothing else, it is a very quick read. However, not really a big deal. Zombie fans might like it. Otherwise, just read and move on. Borrow from your local library if you can, or if you must buy, wait til it hits the second hand bookstores.… (plus d'informations)
