Lyrically, but simply, written story of a Chinese-Canadian woman (and her parents) in Halifax, and her struggle with feeling disconnected from everything. Elucidates some of the challenges of being from everywhere and nowhere. Its tone is somber but there are great moments of humour. The narrator is sympathetic, and we are with her because we want her to find her purpose, something to really sink her teeth into, besides the cough drops she's addicted to.
