As the mistress of the previous English lord of the Irish estate, the heroine wants absolutely nothing to do with his nephew who now takes over. She lives in a small cottage on the edge of the property but is furious to here that the Englishman wants the witch squatting in his cottage. They have this ongoing war and comically try everything to piss off one another. He stands in his estate and glares that the cottage and she stands in the cottage and glares at the estate. She devises a plan to be rid of him but things don’t go completely as planned. The hero wants nothing to do with his is inheritance and wants less to do with the backwards Irish countryside he’s been left. The one shining aspect of his plight is the enchanting young woman who was his dead uncle’s mistress. He’s enraptured by this mysterious woman and vows to have her for his own though he doesn’t know that she’s the witch whose he’s been fighting with all these months. The heroine was a little snotty in my opinion. Sure the English have the reputation as being arrogant selfish conquering people who take things that don’t belong to them but the hero never gave off this vibe. He was never anything but kind and welcoming to the heroine but she treats him like dirt.… (plus d'informations)
