A Walk in the Rainforest selects various rainforest animal and plant life to coincide with each letter of the alphabet. For instance, anteater represents the letter A, bromeliad for B, etc. The descriptions are brief and insightful. The real strength of this short book, however, is the illustrations. They are colorful, vivid and detailed, and truly bring the book to life. The book includes a two-page world map with all of the world’s rainforest highlighted in green.
It is a random collection of some of the more notorious creatures of the rainforest, but would serve well as a companion to a Social studies lesson on Brazil, South America or Rainforest in general.

A great descriptive book with great colors that were drawn by hand. It would be a good book to read out loud to students. It may be difficult for students to read the text.

Each animal is describe with a simple paragraph describing characteristics and traits of each animals. This is a fun book for very young children with greta illustrations.
