Beginning with his life in Nigeria, working for ICI, then helping Barbara sell her fashions, he finally buys an island, the famous Burgh Island.
He restored the wonderful Art Deco hotel on the island.
This was the setting for some of Agatha Christie's stories, most notably "And Then There Were None".
A joyful book for anyone interested in Fashion, travel and Agatha Christie.Very highly recommended.
If you get the chance, read "Great White Palace" which documents the restoration in more detail.
