Tim Poland

This isn't my usual kind of book. I picked it up because I liked the title. That said, I did enjoy it although it was a little slow for me. Tim Poland did a pretty good job of writing with a woman as the main character.

Most of what happens is internal as the main character Sandy Holston doesn't have many friends and interacts with people on a superficial level. Some of the characters are weird, such as the dog Stink and a neighbor who snorkels in a few feet of water.

The climax did not quite resonate with me. I think I was supposed to feel scared for Sandy and proud of her being able to take care of herself, but the scene felt forced. However, the overall story was worth the read.… (plus d'informations)
