As a Martial Artist, Fitness Coach (and writer) I have been lucky enough to train all around the globe, in locations as diverse as China, Thailand, the USA and many places within the UK, all within a variety of fascinating styles; from Chinese Kickboxing (Sanda), Shaolin Kung Fu, TaeKwonDo, Thai Boxing and Escrima to more esoteric styles such as Xingyi and Chi Gong. Along this journey I have also been fortunate to have first hand experience training with leading authorities including world champions, Chinese masters and stars of film and TV. Author Pierce provides basic logical information for creating a routine that will help develop and maintain an exercise program. His book would be good for somebody just starting out. While it contains a lot of tips and suggestions, the book would benefit from chapter headings and/or an index.

A simple book promising to deliver 'cheats' to quicker fitness, this book is actually quite informative. Although a lot of the information contained in it is common sense, it's the kind of common sense you need to be reminded of every now and then.

The book is split into different sections dealing with exercise, at home and in the gym, mental attitude, food and mental attitude, with each section having a few different ideas on how to improve that area quickly.

Reading each section, a lot of the hacks were things I know to do, but not always things I actually do, and the reminder to do each is welcome. Right now I shall begin with the very necessary work on my posture - during my tv viewing I shall endeavour to spend at least one episode sitting on an exercise ball instead of slumped in an armchair.

Great list of tips to live healthier. Some I knew, but didn't use recently. Such as using smaller plates. Others were helpful and new to me. Try to focus on healthy fitness and not weightless, for example. Good book for anyone interested in getting healthy.
