A good illustration of the failure of the IT world to follow the project management processes that it purports to have. Most certified PMP's come from the IT world, yet IT continues to fail - fail - fail to meet any sort of reasonable targets for cost, schedule or communications.

This book entertains with its stories of successes and failures of big-money Hollywood projects. An industry like most (and unlike IT) where decisions have to be made in an objective, reasonable, logical manner before billions are spent on them.

Recommend skimming through it for the entertainment value, but anyone who has worked with an IT department will know these stories already.

And come on, Waterworld is one of Costner's best movies, despite being the most expensive box-office flop in world history.
