Opinion: I liked "Five Busy Beavers" as it is an effective and clever counting book. It has a simple rhyme scheme that is enjoyable for younger readers, however it does contain some words that may present themselves as falling-off points such as "bog" and "ferrying" right at the beginning of story. For this reason and also some choppiness, language is not it's strong suit. I prefer the illustrations which are cute and are more likely to get a child engaged. Finally, I think the inclusion of the information section at the end is great, displaying facts about beavers, muskrats, herons, chorus frogs, Blandings turtles, and fireflies. There is a good amount of knowledge, and it is written in the same juvenile way as the rest of the book, which makes it more student friendly.… (plus d'informations)
