Though it has gone through the usual cycle of radical new idea--widely accepted --challenged by newer ideas this is still an important book arguing that there was a serious movement to end the 100 Years War and ally England and France against the Islamic (Turkish) menace. If true, it puts Richard II's pro-French policy in a broader and more positive light.
