This is pretty cute. Rhyming text tells the tale of an all-animal orchestra. I can tell it was written in the 40s because all the musicians are male. There's a very cheesy joke at the end, which we all laughed at a lot.

Very nice collection that includes *unabridged* copies of such stories as Mister Dog (aka Crispin's Crispian) by Margaret Wise Brown and Garth Williams, The Golden Egg Book by Brown and Leonard Weisgard, and four stories illustrated by Gustaf Tenggren. ?áUnfortunately it does not have Color Kittens... I'd still like to read a complete edition of that.

This book is a little strange - what book about musicians manages to confuse the bagpipe for a fife??? Probably not the best book for introducing your children to the instruments of the orchestra, but if you child likes animals they could have some fun with this story.
