David O'Connell (1) (1940–)

Wilbur Kurtz made his living as an artist and although born in the north, eventually became an expert in Atlanta history and lived in Atlanta. He is best known for the art work he produced for the great 1939 film Gone With the Wind as well as Technical Advisor for the film. This book is a biography that, for me, was most interesting when discussing Gone With the Wind. However, I did find the photographs of many of Kurtz's works to be beautiful and loved the way he illustrated the envelopes to his fiance'. The book is well written and thoroughly researched. Kurtz throughly researched his historical paintings prior to actually executing them which I found remarkable for an artist. I enjoyed the book but wish more time had been spent on Gone with the Wind.… (plus d'informations)
