2022. This packed gem of a book is the sleeper of the year for sure—Do not sleep on this book! It is a blueprint for a communist utopia where we take care of everyone. Everyone has freedom, autonomy, healthcare, food, housing, clothes, education. There’s no money, prison, police, military. There’s no nuclear family, just chosen family. There are many genders. There’s no marriage. It talks about the suffering it would take to get there. There are plagues, wars, guns, violence, gangs, climate disasters, deforestation, species extinction, and hunger, before the new communist utopia is established, but there is so much profound hope in this book. I feel like now that I/we know what to envision we finally can visual world peace, so we can also make it happen.
