In principle, this is a very intriguing text on what makes Britishness. Chapters range from 'The country' through 'Politics and government' to 'Education' and 'The media', and are able to highlight the cornerstones in all these areas.
Unfortunately, the author restricts himself to the presentation of mere facts, and therefore, the text lacks any aspect of narrative style.
In all, not a good read but nevertheless a potential starting point for further inquiry.
