Wendy Nyemaster

This is a book for women who want or need a nudge to start writing poetry. Nyemaster's goal with this book is to get women to see poetry as a form for self-expression, like journal-writing. She introduces readers to several forms of poetry and suggests ways to use them, for example, writing a sonnet to explore an emotional matter, writing a sestina to capture a memory, or writing a ghazal to let yourself daydream. I thought this was a wonderful addition to the world of books on writing poetry and a welcome change from all the books out there meant to help you get poems ready for publication.
