Three-year-old Caillou is watching the rain; Daddy tells him that trees are thirsty. Caillou is thirsty, too, so Daddy gives him a big glass of apple juice. Caillou likes being with Daddy.

But when Daddy tells Caillou that he and Mommy are going out for dinner and that Lisa will come to stay with him, the little boy is upset. Caillou likes Lisa, but why would Daddy and Mommy go out to eat without him?

The target audience for this book is the young child, ages three and p. The bright illustrations are sure to capture the child’s attention and the simple text encourages learning. The goal of this book, part of the North Star series, is to help young children learn through familiar, everyday events. Here, Caillou learns that the babysitter will take good care of him and he can have fun while Mommy and Daddy are out.

Recommended, especially for the young reader or for Caillou fans.

Death by Midnight is a thrilling adventure for more than just young adults. Starting off with a bang, you're quickly wrapped up in Anna's world. It's not easy being a teenager, and it's even harder when you're a genius too. The descriptions are vivid and keep you immersed in the story. A great read to stay inside sipping cocoa too on a rainy day.

It horrifies me somewhat that Caillou has been translated as Lollypop.
