NCLA Review - This book gives a roadmap for finding our way through the grief and loss that we all encounter in life. Change and loss is constant and necessary for growth. The author’s personal mantra is: To live is to love; to love is to lose; to lose is to live. Further, what we love we will eventually lose. When we lose, something else will take its place. Just as when we lose the simple faith we learned as a child, a deeper adult understanding of God takes its place shaped by grief and loss. It is often said that life is not fair, but actually it is, because eventually every heart will be broken. The author outlines nine stages of grief: naming the loss, feeling the pain, anger, remembering, guilt, forgiving, gratitude, play, and practice.
