The Birth of Satan: Tracing the Devil's Biblical Roots is boring. I have a "so-what" response upon finishing it. Plus, I found it very difficult to finish the book. I kept reading and finishing other books before finishing this one. It was thick with information, but I didn't find it at all engaging. I actually felt the book was a little cowardly, safe.

This book chronicles the evolution and birth of Satan. The premise of the book is how a strict monotheistic religion explained the source and nature of evil in the world. If you have ever sought an accessible introduction to the bible: its history, what is in it, what time period it takes place in, then go out and find this book and read the first chapter.
