Then there was the mention of (and I quote) "While other men hung pin-ups of Bettie Page,..." and my reading came to a screeching halt. Wait, Wut? Bettie Page did not begin her "pin-up"/modelling career until 1950, 5 years after the end of WWII. (And yes, I realize that I know entirely too much about Ms. Page). The author, perhaps, meant Betty Grable, who was a WWII pinup.
Anyway, I was totally thrown out of the story and, because of its brevity, never had the time to get back into it before it was over.… (plus d'informations)
