This is our new favorite book! Sally is shopping on High Street with a list of ten items. As she arrives at each darling little shop, the reader opens the full-page-flap to enter and then helps Sally find what she's looking for. Ruby loved predicting which item we would find at which shop (for example, the garden hose is what we should look for at the hardware store). Adorable illustrations, plenty of little things to look at and discover... this is one that will be read and re-read over and over and over again in our house! A must read; LOVE IT!!… (plus d'informations)

I liked that this book took such detail with the decorations and knick knacks of each room of Grandma’s house. It really gives you the feeling of when you were younger and visited someone’s house like a relative or family friend often and there are these simple things that become special to you because of this connection. For instance, dolls in a cabinet or a china cow to pour milk from. It has a very nostalgic feel. The way it’s made also leaves a little hole open in the doorway at the end of each spread so you can see a little into the next spread (room) before flipping the page. I thought that was a really neat touch!… (plus d'informations)

Nice story about a girl looking for her grandma in her house. We get to see what the whole house looks like too going from room to room through doors and up ladders and stairs.

The illustrations and writing in this book have a classic feel. This would be a hit with any child that loves birds.
