Harper is starting over in Orchid City with a new job, new outlook, but she never expected a night out and a heated moment with a mystery guy could change so much. Niko is a professional hockey player and from the start you can tell he is different, yea he is still cocky and yet he isn’t over the top and he is sensitive. The chemistry between these two is explosive and off the charts hot, but there are many reasons why they can’t be together one being they work together. I absolutely loved their story and once Nico was in he was all in wanting everything he could have with Harper. Such an amazing read with hockey, steam, a head over heels in love hero, and a strong heroine.… (plus d'informations)

Simon and Stella had this instant attraction that they danced around because she was in a relationship and he was her brother’s best friend. They would laugh and flirt but always kept things on a friend level. Stella has lived in the shadows of her brother for a long time and she dealt with her emotions by partying and living it up, but when her world is flipped upside down by the betrayal of her ex she knows she needs to reinvent herself. Heading back home to take time to find herself but when the tension is unbearable SImon and Stella find themselves finding it hard to deny the feelings. Simon is this amazing character that is kind, caring, and always shows Stella how amazing she is that it made it easy to fall in love with this guy. The bond these two share started as a connection that led to a friendship of sorts that became more while they helped each other.… (plus d'informations)

Vaughn’s accident has sent him on a deep spiral into darkness where he can’t see the light. After he loses it all with his future in the balance, he doesn’t have any hope. My heart broke for him because his whole life was hockey and to have that stolen the way he did was tragic. He doesn’t spiral into using anything, no, his darkness has him severely depressed and feeling unworthy of so much, just lost.

London was such a strong character and while I did think the way she wanted to help others was admirable I also felt the way she wanted “fix” everyone all the time was done the wrong way. I understand the need to help others is overwhelming, but no one can do the work for them, especially if they don’t want to be saved.

She was so intent on saving her brother and Vaughn that she didn’t care if she was going to be hurt so, when he did something to push her away London lost it on him and said, “Until you can get your sh*t together and figure out what it is you want in life, I’m done.” made me angry with her. This whole time when Vaughn told her he would mess up, he had no clue what he wanted in life, he was struggling, lost, they were all the signs she should stop pushing and listen, be patient, yet she kept pushing so I felt she deserved it when they pushed back.

Yes, I get she didn’t deserve some things but going in she knew he would push back, and this wasn’t a short journey for him, this is a life altering thing so it would take time, but she wanted him to change now, and things don’t work that way. They were strong together, loved hard, but ultimately, it was up to Vaughn to change, and he had to do that himself and not pushed to do it.

This story was full of emotions and twists with other characters that has me intrigued wanting more from them and I did love the bond and relationship that was formed between Vaughn and London.
