Carol Meldrum

I am a new knitter and was looking for some simple projects to practice my new skills. Although some of the projects looked very interesting, they were not for beginners. The book has plenty of pictures of finished projects but no pictures of the process. Some of the terminology I was not familiar with. I might try the book again after I get more practice.

i got this solely for the godzilla pattern and it's the only one that has a weird unexplained graph in it. i'm currently typing out written instructions for it because i want to make it, but reading charts while knitting isn't something i've mastered. it baffles me because so many reviews for this particular pattern on ravelry say it's bad, and i understand why.

Some interesting ideas, but not really my style. Pity - I enjoy knitting except for the fact that it always takes so long - but I like what I produce more than anything here. I didn't actually try any. The one that looked most interesting, the strawberry hat, puzzled me - why knit it flat and seam it afterward? Wouldn't knitting circular be faster?

This is a fun little book of knitted celebrities such as Madonna, Elvis, The Beatles etc. Not purely knitting though, you have to sew clothes for them.
