A fun volume if you're a fan. I've followed Don McNay as a newspaper columnist for years, and this volume is just a collection of his favorite columns over the years. A good little bathroom book.

This threw me off at first until I realized it's more a collection of columns or short essays than a narrative. At first his style seems a little awkward, tending to ramble and repeat himself, but it the book really grew on me by the end. The chapters are very short and may actually be from a newspaper column or something like that, and I think that's where the sense of awkwardness comes from. I'd bet if you just read a chapter a day it would seem to make more sense.

If you stay with it (and it's a quick read) you'll discover (or at least I did) that he has a lot of great insight and a very down to earth view of things. Don Mcnay seems like someone you would love to have dinner and conversation with, and that's basically what the book is like.

All in all an entertaining read that might actually make you think about a few things differently. That's a pretty successful book in my opinion.
