Courte biographie
[from Puffins Climb, Penguins Rhyme]
Bruce McMillan helped band this puffin in Iceland for study. He also traveled to Antarctica to observe penguins. Mr. McMillan is the award-winning author and photo-illustrator of more than thirty books for children. In addition to speaking at conferences and elementary schools around the country, he teaches university courses about writing, illustrating, and publishing children's books.

Fascinated by both birds and minimalist verse, his goals for this book were to share the habits and habitats of puffins and penguins and to inspire children to created their own minimalist verse. He lives and watches birds in Shapleigh, Maine.

this book is a good introduction to counting with money. The reason for this is because when you count the money whatever you have you can get that many jelly beans. I would use this in my kindergarten class for math because you learn about money and also you can do the activity while you read. and you can use whatever type of substance you want rice, beans and more. Along with that it can be super engaging because it is a book about money and candy.

Illustrations make the book and this one struggles. And the text was slightly brusque. Made me wonder if it was a translation.
