Genre: Fantasy
This is a good example of a fantasy book because the bear in the story is very personified and does everything that his human friend does. In the end it turns out that the bear is not real, but for the majority of the story he takes on human traits.

When a boy goes bike riding every afternoon, his teddy bear, unbeknownst to the boy, becomes a real bear who disobeys all rules that the boy so carefully follows. So is this a didactic book that shows by bad example what not to do or the boy's wish fulfillment of how he would really like to ride his bike / live his life if he weren't such a stickler for following rules or afraid of getting in trouble?

Son could not determine if this had bicycles or motorcycles in it, so cries of "motorcycle!" "bicycle" were loud and furious. Meaning, of course, he like it.

Look for the PC police to declare this an un-book, given that nobody is wearing helmets.
