Do not be fooled: this book does not exist for the benefit of tourists. This is *about* tourists, and how they see us; it's very meta for Mainers. While the content of the book does tend to focus on Downeast and "real" Maine, reserving (not entirely unjust) mockery for the Greater Portland area and the wealthier beach communities in the southern counties of the state, it's something that every resident can read and understand, and if not laugh at, at least groan in amused sympathy. In summation: fun enough to get from the library and read on the beach, but don't give it to out of state guests. We don't want them knowing all our secrets.… (plus d'informations)
