The Man Who Didn't Mind Hanging par Nancy Barr Mavity
When Gabriel Jeffries, crippled philanthropist, is found murdered in his room, police are sure the culprit is his aging manservant, Sing Wong. But Jeffries is not a nice philanthropist, and Wong is both the only person who really likes him and the only person willing to face death to protect the real killer. A fine Golden Age mystery; funny, briskly paced, and featuring a Chinese main character who's surprisingly well written for the period.
