A feel-good slow-burn romance

This was a nice story. Like a nice cup of tea or a nice lie in on a Sunday morning. It didn't blow me away, but many of the best moments in life don't.

I don't know much about life in the United Kingdom and nothing of Zimbabwean culture, but the lives Jenn Matthews has brought to the page feel authentic.

I was given this ARC by the publisher in exchange for an Honest Review.

When Mel and Ruby meet for the first time, it is not a good meeting. The second time is a little better, and the third even better and slowly they get closer to closer.

Ruby has been assigned to do a community service garden with a bunch of Year 4s. She knows nothing about gardening and so she asks for Mel's help and they do that toegether as they get closer.

It was very up and down with lots of back and forth. Sometimes that made it a fun read, and sometimes the plot turns were a little too forced in the narrative.

It was a mostly enjoyable book to read though, and I definitely liked reading all the characters that were kids. They were all very unique and cracked me up at times.… (plus d'informations)
