I am reading the Made for Love series in reverse, but the good news is the books are standalone!

Told from the alternating POVs of four friends, Reckless Surrender explores the thin line between friendship and more. What do you do when the friend you've sworn to never fall for is the person you know you love? What do you do when a bet turns into real feelings? And how do you overcome the past that has kept you from ever saying yes to a relationship before?

I found myself falling in love with every single character in Reckless Surrender, but the two main males had to be my favorite. Roman and Trevor are definitely more than what first meets the eye and far more than their reputations lead them to be. Their POV's were entertaining, enlightening, and brought the most bang to the story for me. I genuinely enjoying watching both men come to their senses and grow out of their pasts. The two girls, Daphne and Logan, are the least likely friends ever. They bond over a situation most girls hate each other for and provide each other the support they both are lacking. All four characters have heavy pasts, pasts that R.C. Martin took great care into explaining and detailing so the reader can understand the characters as they are now. However, R.C. Martin doesn't let the characters dwell in their pasts or let them be damaged, each character was pushing for the best version of themselves, whether it was in their careers, their relationship with God, or their general relationships. Each character was distinct, with a unique dialogue and perspective, and I loved that about Reckless Surrender.

I was incredibly impressed that R.C. Martin gave such heavy pasts to the characters, but she did an amazing job of showing that people are not their previous circumstances and they can grow to be different and better. Though the themes are heavy, ranging from religious beliefs to children and loving oneself, the book is a lighthearted read that made me smile through the entirety. The drama that unfolds in this book is so realistic and I loved watching the characters go through it together. Reckless Surrender is very lengthy, but it is so worth sticking it out to see the complications of each relationship be worked through and love to prevail. I highly recommend R.C. Martin to anyone looking for a new author to read and Made for Love is an incredible series to spend your time with.

First coupled together in Encore Worthy, Millie and Sage are a duo most unlikely. Millicent is a college professor and Sage is the twenty-one year old lead singer of the band Mountains & Men. Millicent is a tough girl, she doesn't let people get too close to her and she knows one thing is true, men always leave. She's happy with Sage though, with the way things work between them, as long as he doesn't expect any more than she can give. Sage can finally see his dreams coming true with Mountains & Men, he though it would be all he ever needed, but with Millie he finds himself wanting more. He desires her above all else, but he doesn't know how to show her that not everyone leaves.

"Right now, I sing for her. Tonight, she's here for me. And the first chance I get, I'll give her a hell of a lot more than a song."

I was so excited for this book, because I equally loved Millie and Sage as individuals, it just so happens they are even better together. Millie has so many aspects to her that are honorable, that make her the kind of character you want to look up to, but she has so much she doesn't face in her life. She went through the most character development, from page one to the very end, she was a fluid character, ever changing. That doesn't mean she's healed from her past though and I love that R.C. Martin didn't just flip a switch and make everything okay, the series works because Millie is still finding out what from her past is a truth and what is a lie. Sage is so handsome, a true-alpha in that he goes after what he wants, but has the utmost respect for his companion as well. Getting a complete book with a lot of focus on his band was the best, I love Mountains & Men and I loved seeing the interactions, seeing them succeed. However, his situationship with Millie is definitely the focus of the novel. It is impossible to read these books and not see that these two are meant to be, they're each other's yin and yang. Things between them are hot hot hot, that's for sure.

"I will survive this fall. I will. Or so I keep telling myself."

Worthy of the Harmony took me a while to get into, which is unusual for me considering I am a huge R.C. Martin fan. The flow of the novel didn't work for me at first, but I stuck it out due to my love for Sage and it was worth it. Part of the draw of Sage and Millie was just how strong their chemistry was, but at times I felt their sexual chemistry out weighed the dialogue they shared. It was a given that Mountains & Men was going to be smutty and dirty, and I really loved that aspect of it, I just felt like it was a bit much. Given the length though, I think readers will welcome the smutty distraction from the angst and find it is more balanced for them than I felt it was for me.

"She's pushing me away. I don't know why, but I'm going to find out. She's mine and I won't have it any other way."

If you're looking for a sexy, angst-filled, rocker romance, the Mountains & Men series is sure to be a hit for you. Millie and Sage have eyes for only one another, but their journey to become one is a roller coaster.

The discordance that exists between my girl and me is the mountain I face.

Worthy of the Dissonance is the second installment in the Mountains & Men series, it opens up where Worthy of the Harmony left off and brings us immediately back into the story of Millie and Sage, a couple who hasn't figured out how to defy the odds of a long distance romance. Sage is finally achieving his dreams, at twenty-one he's on a massive tour with his band, Mountains & Men, but he's distracted by the girl he left behind, the girl who let go of their relationship with no faith he'd return. Millie is still hurting from her past, confused by the whys and hows of what made her upbringing so different than others. Her faith in love is only due to the connection she has forged with Sage, a connection she severed. When they are finally reunited it isn't as easy anymore, but together they face Millie's past and look towards a future that includes them together even as Sage grows increasingly more famous.

He's here. I'm here. We're far from perfect, but we're nowhere near finished-just as he promised.

Talk about a change of pace, Worthy of the Dissonance brings so much character development to Millie and gives readers a look at who she really is, all while tying the bonds of her relationship with Sage tighter. While readers have known Sage from the start, Millie has been an emotional character with very little backstory. R.C. Martin manages to keep her the same character, while providing more detail to the lack of family life she talks about, explains more of her relationship with her mom, and brings in some unwelcome people from her past. Sage, ever the perfect boyfriend, stays with her through it all and I love him for it. These two are a unique couple, by definition they should not work, but they do and their chemistry and connection outweighs the differences. WotD is built on angst, drama, SMUT, and incredibly heartwarming moments that bring the reader closer not only to Millie and Sage, but the rest of the band and the friends and family that surround them.

Would rather you just hold me
Would rather you just stay here
Would rather, baby, anything but
This

I really enjoyed this installment of Mountains & Men, especially with the development of Millie's background and the involvement of so many secondary characters. Worthy of the Dissonance definitely surpassed Worthy of the Harmony for me, I felt a connection with Millie and Sage, as well as felt like I had stakes in how their relationship worked out. R.C. Martin not only improved on her characters, but the story line is one that is incredibly interesting and has many facets to keep readers interested. I can't wait for the third and final installment.

The finale readers have been waiting for is here and R.C. Martin killed it, I can't tell you how happy I was to have tears running down my face. Emotional, angst driven, and the perfect happy ending for a couple that's faced so many mountains. Worthy of the Harmony told us all about Sage, Worthy of the Dissonance allowed us to really see Millie, and Worthy of the Melody gives us the couple at their best, together they are everything.

We're not supposed to have secrets between us. There aren't supposed to be lies that separate us. We've got enough geography doing that on our behalf.

Millie and Sage, these two are perfect in this final novel, their relationship where it belongs and achieving their dreams as individuals. There has been so much character development in the previous two novels and that is very apparent in this emotional novel. Millie, finally, has faith in love and Sage, he's found so much more than just music that drives him. There was so much extra detail about Mountain & Men's rise to fame too, which made it all the more realistic. R.C. Martin's writing, though always excellent, is really above and beyond that, I honestly felt like I was watching a movie the entire time I read. Of course, it wouldn't be a part of the series with out a little bit of drama, but how it all works out is just right. I don't want to give anything away, but this novel, definitely the best one yet, just the perfect amount of smutty moments, angst, music, and of course, romance.

I don't want to live within the confines of those limitations anymore. I want to be bold, I want to love with everything I have in me, and I want to do it without regret.

The Mountains & Men series, starting with the sexy novella Encore Worthy, is the perfect series for fans of musicians, angst, and romance. The characters are so real and R.C. Martin writes emotional moments like no one else, you'll feel all the heartbreak and love right alongside them. Sexy and still thoughtful, the series quickly became one of my favorites, with Worthy of the Melody definitely being the best novel in the series. Can't wait to read what R.C. Martin comes out with next! Plus, that little secret part at the end? SWOON.

She's more than the harmony to my melody. She is my melody. She's my everything. Always.
